
AnimateOnline.org — animate! is a UK producer of experimental animated films. The films broaden the definitions of animation, breaking out of the conventions of live-action or frame-by-frame animation to new levels of aesthetics and narrative. According to the site, “animate! has commissioned 84 risk-taking films since 1990 – dynamic and diverse, pure and hybrid, celluloid, tape and digital.” For them, “Synthesis is what it’s about.” animate! also offers residencies. They are produced by Finetake and funded by Arts Council England and Channel 4.

MissingKids.com is the website for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). This US agency helps prevent abductions and exploitation of children, assists in the search for missing children, and aids the victims of abduction and exploitation as well as their family members. The NCMEC website provides a cybertipline, information on their 24-hr hotline, and links to global agencies as well as ways to report sightings and get involved in the ever-important task of helping protect children. FactMonster.com is a fun way for kids to learn. This reference site is oriented towards kids ages 8-14 and combines a dictionary, encyclopedia, atlas and various almanacs to be full of useful facts, statistics and historical records.
