GoogleEarth.com is a downloadable application for both Mac and Windows machines. This software allows you to “look down” on the planet as it zooms in from outer space onto locations of your choosing. Utilizing satellite imagery and 3D data to give you a “bird’s eye” view might sound like a cool toy, but Google Earth can be used for much more. Combining data from Google, Google Maps and Google SketchUp, users can search for resaurants, hotels and even get driving directions inside of the Google Earth Environment.
