One of the coolest things about the internet is it’s ability to be used for communication. Things like email, chat, instant messaging and video conferencing have helped us keep in touch with people in ways that were science fiction a generation ago. Joining the computer-based communications movement is an interest in internet telephony like Skype.com, a service that allows for clear communication, not just computer-to-computer, but from computer-to-telephone as well, creating a market for cheap phone calls around the world. Simply load their software and communicate using your built-in microphone or an external headset. To top it all off, Skype also works great for video conferencing if you have a computer equipped with a camera.
