As the new kid on the block, I will try to be an interesting addition to 'AboutUs Weblog.' I need to spend time learning about all sides of 'AboutUs'.

I'm a proud Montrealer where all things great happen!! 'let me count the ways'. I'm also a committed - 'green' - & like to share what I've learned - drop by & have a look ~ http://www.all-natural-clothing.com/going-green-stories.html.

I always have wanted to create stories in various media, but been constrained by time. When thinking about ways of working with others to creatively collaborate, I came up with the idea of
WikiStory: http://www.wikistory.com/wiki/WikiStory_Home .

Wikis are useful, but only as good as the people who add to them, and as long as people abide by the 'rules'. Having worked in large orgs its amazing how much knowlegde there is stored in all the shared drives of various dept's which if organised/shared properly could help organisations to do things better. - David J(A happy and content fella managing IT @ www.joots.co.uk)

Martin, I think that is a great idea - an easier widget to help getting to consensus. I was hoping that the simplicity of wiki was what would show through from this post :-)

Perhaps a refined consensus polling process as mentioned on some aboutus pages will add more Wiki functionality in the future? That said I think for many applications and business motives this process is too slow. In contrast it might be a better fit for an application exposed in your mentioned Newsweek article, which states:

The United Nations, notorious for endless deliberations, is trying a technological quick fix.

Here one has a process situation which is already very slow and “endless”, and I suspect leaves too many feeling less than participatory or heard. Maybe to “sell” a better consensus polling feature to such “already too bureaucratic” entities to generate more aboutus revenue?
