As a wiki and social media-ish site, it seems quite natural that AboutUs.org and many of its regulars are also “drinking the kool-aid” when it comes to the other coolest Web 2.0 sites out there.
My favorite, and the one I use the most, is Facebook. This is largely because of the neat things you can do with photos there, but also because its primary demographic isn’t emo 15-year-olds.
For AboutUs purposes it is the relatively new “Pages” feature that is really great. Now instead of accounts just being open to individual people, other entities such as companies, bands, public figures, and websites like AboutUs.org, can have their own page and interact with people on Facebook. We’ve had a nice response to AboutUs.org’s page there so far, and we currently have 78 84 fans. Perhaps you’d like to make that 79 85?
You can find and connect with AboutUs elsewhere in the social media realm on MySpace, Twitter, and Flickr. And of course there’s this, our weblog, as well.

Entangling oneself in this growing web of connections is a very worthwhile pursuit. We at wikiHowl have been having a great time figuring out how to have fun with the amazing amount of features available at all these various sites which you reference above and wish you tremendous luck with it too!
Oh, and PS (as one of those 15-year-olds you spoke of above might say) I have a hunch you will get that 79th fan quite soon!
This is a little offtopic, but I notice Whois.net is linking to a mostly-empty whois competitor called “sitiki”. This sucks for you, but also for users (who have to check both places) and site owners (who have to write about themselves in both places). Any way of rectifying the situation?
Sorry, I should have said “a mostly-empty aboutus competitor”.
Looks like we’ve got 84 fans now!
Ben, we have it on our plate – thanks for shining some more light on to it.
