We are thankful to all the folks that nominated us… we made it to the first voting round!

We are with some great friends in the wiki category: the big obvious one is Wikipedia; the first enterprise wiki provider, Socialtext; a strong contender in the enterprise field, MindTouch; great wiki farms, Wetpaint and PBwiki; and most especially the wonderful community site, wikiHow, are all in the pack.

It’s tough to say vote for us, when we are with so many great sites. But that is what we say!

Vote for AboutUs! because we are doing something groundbreaking and different than all the other fabulous sites in the category.

I feel the same way about these awards. Each wiki is wonderful for different reasons. It feels odd to be “competing” with the other wikis for an award, when we would all prefer to be collaborating on building great information resources. I would have vastly preferred that wikiHow have been nominated in the “how to” category instead of the wiki one. Oh well. May the luckiest wiki win. :)
