New features to sum up websites

by KristinaWeis on 11 January 2009

You may have noticed that we rolled out a few new things front and center on the domain pages here at AboutUs.org.

We introduced a new concept called a summary, in which a website can be summed up in 63 characters or less. We also moved “topics” to the top of each page. These are similar to tags and the old MediaWiki vestige of categories that currently remain at the bottom of our pages. These are meant to be topics that the site is about, and we made them much more prominent on the page to mirror their heightened importance as AboutUs moves forward. (Try clicking a topic or using the Find! bar and see where it takes you now.)

For more information about how to use topics go here and summaries here. And as always, if you have any questions or comments post them below or contact us.

I am sorry for it very much, but according to me too complicated AboutUS an editor’s menu. It would not be possible to simplify it the to me for similar ones with a foreign country mother tongue?
