IgnitePortland Ticket Info (Sort Of)

by Tak Kendrick on 1 February 2009

We’ve talked on this weblog enough about IgnitePortland (here, here and here) that we don’t probably need to belabor the point – we think the quarterly speed presentation venue provides a great opportunity to see the crazy and amazing things happening in the Portland community.

The Ignite people just announced the list of presentations for the Feb. 19 show and it looks to be a rambunctious bunch with ideas like: “Ham Radio: It’s not about talking to pork products (but we’re working on that),” “The Secret History of Fonts You May Not Know Before,” and “How to creatively destroy pesky, non-moneymaking community efforts” as well as 14 other gems.

For this IgnitePortland (#5 if you’re counting) they’re doing the tickets a little differently for the FREE show. The last event, they gave out 550 tickets in just under 4 hours and generally it was only the lucky few who were glued to their Twitter/RSS feeds that heard the news.

So, this time around, they’ve pre-announced the date and time the ticket information will go out – Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. You still have to check your Twitter or the website at that time to find out where to go, but they are trying to make it a little easier to get tickets this time around.
