If you’re in the Portland, OR area, just a reminder of a couple of events happening this next week, along with a quick recap of one last week:
•
IgnitePortland – IgnitePortland is this Thursday (the 19th). As we mentioned on the first, tickets were announced and released on Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. The free tickets were swooped up in a record 5 minutes. For those still wanting to go though, you can probably still get in, you’ll just have to wait in line. Show is a the Bagdad Theater at 7 p.m. General admission doors open at 6, so get there early (to our knowledge no one has ever not gotten in, but ticket holders can start moseying in at 5:15 and thus get the good seats.
•
RecentChangesCamp – Again, IgnitePortland kicks off a Portland tech weekend culminating in RecentChangesCamp, the open space wiki conference held next weekend (Fri-Sun) at the University Place Hotel. For novices as well as old hacks, folks in the wiki, collaboration, open source and other technology spheres will be gathering to discuss a variety of topics (decided ad hoc each morning).
• Lunch 2.0 recap – AboutUs hosted the Lunch 2.0 “birthday celebration” (honoring one year since the Portland Lunch 2.0 “launched” in our offices) last Wednesday. Lunch 2.0 is a Bay Area phenomenon that Portland is putting our stamp on, featuring a semi-monthly free lunch at a local technology company to discuss, share and just get to know each other. Silicon Florist has a great recap of this week’s event, and there’s a variety of photos drifting around Flickr of this and past Lunch 2.0 events. Future Lunch 2.0 gatherings include: March 11 at OpenSourcery and March 15 at TechShop Portland.
